Meet the team
Mary Bilsborough - Owner
My name is Mary Taguma Bilsborough, Managing Director of Cheshire Support Services, I was born in Zambia, Africa.
I began my career in healthcare after completing my nursing training, qualifying as a general Nurse. I worked in this role for 11 years before further training as a Midwife, where I spent four years working in labour wards supporting mothers and babies during childbirth.
During this time, I also took part in an important medical research project run by the university of Zambia School of Medicine in partnership with the University of Nebraska School of Medicine in the United States. The research focused on HIV transmission from mother to baby during pregnancy and delivery, and involved supporting families and monitoring babies after birth.
In 2001, I moved to England and studied information technology at Borough College in London. Whilst studying I worked at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital as an Auxiliary Nurse. I later became a tutor at the college, teaching Access to Nursing courses and supporting international students who wished to pursue careers in healthcare. 2004 I became a dental nurse till 2010. I decided to work in an area that I love best which is social care, completing my Level 3 in Health and Social Care Diploma, then going on as a service Manager, I continued working with my studying to gain my Level 5 in Management Leadership. I founded Cheshire Support Services in 2018. Today, Cheshire Support Services is still growing and very successful with a great management team and fantastic care staff. My passion has always been to provide compassionate, high-quality care and to create opportunities for others within the health and social care sector.
